  • It just makes more sense. You start with your name and finish the sentence from there. Why pre-load the status with "is"? Can you think of a good reason why people updating their status should start inside that box, rather than with a clean slate?

  • Actually you are incorrect. The president absolutely can direct any member of his branch not to comply with a congressional subpoena. It's called "checks and balances" and it works both ways. You should study up on it.
